What it is

LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide, part of innate immunity, studied for antimicrobial, wound-healing and immunomodulatory roles.

Proposed mechanism

It disrupts microbial membranes and modulates immune signaling and angiogenesis; context-dependent (can be pro- or anti-inflammatory).1
