What it is

KPV is a tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) corresponding to the C-terminus of α-MSH, studied for anti-inflammatory effects, especially in gut models.

Proposed mechanism

It is reported to reduce inflammatory signaling (e.g., NF-κB pathway) in intestinal and skin models, without the pigmentation effects of full α-MSH.1
