DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide) is a naturally occurring nonapeptide first isolated from sleep-related brain activity.

Proposed mechanism

Its precise mechanism and receptor are not clearly defined; effects on sleep architecture, stress hormones and pain have been reported inconsistently.1
