What it is
AOD-9604 is a synthetic fragment of the C-terminus of human growth hormone (residues 176-191), studied for effects on fat metabolism without the full growth-promoting activity of GH.
Proposed mechanism
It is proposed to stimulate lipolysis (fat breakdown) and inhibit lipogenesis in a GH-like way, but without raising IGF-1 or blood glucose in the manner of full GH.1 Human efficacy data are weak.
State of the evidence
Some early human exposure; obesity trials did not show convincing benefit; no approval.
Regulatory & status
Not FDA-approved; RUO. WADA considerations apply to GH-related compounds.
Reconstitution (reference only)
Lab-handling reference only — not a preparation or dosing instruction: 2.5 mL (250 units) reconstitution solution per vial. See the reconstitution calculator for the arithmetic. This page does not provide dosing guidance.
